MT. CLIMBING - KENYA
Mt. Kenya is a majestic African mountain, very popular with mountaineers all over the world. It stretches across the equator, 193 km north-east of Nairobi and 480 km from the Kenyan coast and covers an area of 580 sq. km. It is Africa’s second highest mountain. It has three peaks; Mbatian, 5,199m, Nelion, 5,188m and point Lenana, 4,985 which is easily accessible by most visitors. It’s never to be forgotten sight. The climbs are not difficult and may be undertaken by any normal healthy person. Late December to late March and mid July to late September are the most reliable months for climbing Mt. Kenya.
 
5 Days /4 nights Mount Kenya Sirimon out Chogoria
Day 1: Depart Nairobi for Nanyuki mid morning, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon spent for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in a camp.
 
Day 2: After breakfast, drive to Sirimon Park Gate for checked in before hiking through the rain forest (9 km) to Old Moses Camp (3300m). Dinner and overnight in a camp.
 
Day 3: Leave Old Moses Camp via Mackinders Valley after breakfast to Shipton Camp (4200m). The distance takes 6 to 7 hrs. Dinner and overnight in a camp.
 
Day 4: At 3:00 am depart for a three hour walk to the summit of Lenana (4985m) arriving at 6.30 am. After sunrise, descend to Mintos Hut for breakfast and later proceed down through the Gorges valley to Chogoria Bandas and the campsite. Dinner and overnight a camp.
 
Day 5: After breakfast, head to Chogoria (32 km) where transport is provided for your journey back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
 
 
4 Days Direct Safari to Mt. Kenya (Sirimon)
 
Day 1: Depart Nairobi for Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon spent for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in a camp.
 
Day 2: After breakfast drive to Sirimon route then hike (about 6 to 8 hours) to Old Moses Camp for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 3: Hike to Shpton's camp (4200m) for overnight. The hike takes 5 to 7 hrs.
 
Day 4: Attempt, Lenana (4985m) at 0300hrs and descend directly to the main road with transfer back to Nairobi.
